  • Risks to Consider with NSAIDs – Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are some of the most commonly used medications in workers’ compensation for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, especially when an inflammatory process is part of the injury. As beneficial as they are, there are risks when taking these medications, especially at higher doses or for extended periods.
  • 3D Printed Medications – A New Era for Workers’ Compensation? – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of SPRITAM® (levetiracetam), the first medication approved utilizing three dimensional printing (3DP) in the manufacturing process, may usher in a new era of easily customized dosages for the individual patient.
  • Illinois to Lock Painkiller Pill Bottles – Opioid analgesics are commonly prescribed for the management of moderate to severe pain following an injury.
